The Soaring Owls Foundation, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation (not affiliated with Atlanta Public Schools) created to supplement fundraising efforts of the Bolton Academy PTA. We were founded in 2012 as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization by a group of Bolton parents who saw the challenges presented by cuts in education spending negatively impacting Bolton's ability to continue to provide an excellent education to its students.
Today, our team is made up of former, current and prospective parents donating their time and talents. The funds we raise help enrich Bolton's curriculum and social environment, strengthening the quality of the education Bolton students receive. SOFi's work helps give them an opportunity to remain competitive not only with other local area students, but on a national and international level.
This school year, the Administration has identified programs that will likely cost an estimated $85,000. The funds raised through Hooty’s Nest Egg fall campaign, SOFi's Night and The SOFi Cup golf tournament will help cover the costs of the following initiatives:
Teacher Professional Development, including Leadership Initiatives
State PTA Membership Dues
Parent Empowerment Nights and Workshops
Schoolwide Events like our Back-to-School BBQ, Fall Festival, annual BINGO Night and Bolton Showcase
Staff and Teacher Appreciation
Community Outreach Events
International Baccalaureate Training, Support and Materials
Teacher Reimbursements for Educational Materials
Playground Upgrade and New Field Improvements
Cultural Events and Field Trips

Our squad could always use more brainpower, more helping hands and more advocates to help spread the word about the work we do. Whether you have bandwidth for one event or are interested in a longer-term commitment, we'd love to discuss how you can contribute.
